I just realized that it had been about three months since I had updated this...So sorry! I think all of my posts start out this way-I am apologizing for taking so long in between posts...A lot has happened since the middle of March. Cameron Walker is officially a walker! He technically took his first steps in the beginning of April, but finally about two weeks ago, he decided he was ready to give up crawling and he has not stopped walking since. It is so fun to watch. Jeff has some video on his cell phone of Cameron walking-it was one of his first official Walker days-I will have to figure out how to get that on here and share it. It's really cute. He was so proud of himself.

Some current pictures of Cameron:

We went to Ventura beach in April. Cameron had been to the beach in September last year and he enjoyed it then, but he LOVED it this time. He had a really great time playing in the sand. He was a little unsure about the water, but loved the sand.

Cameron went on his first trip to Olvera Street and loved the churros. Here he is enjoying a fresh, warm churro:

As I said in my last post, Cameron LOVES Elmo. He loves Sesame Street in general, but is specifically intrigued by Elmo. So we went to The Body by Sesame Street and Cameron got to try to learn about how the body works, and got to meet Elmo. Another day, we went to the Zoo and Cameron got to meet Bert and Ernie! Oh the excitement.....

And here is Mr Walker in the same rocking chair that I used to sit in. He is reading his FAVORITE book (Well, this and Goodnight Moon)...

Cameron is officially taking part in pop culture. He LOVES Elmo!

Cameron loves listening to Jeff's ipod when we take him on walks. He falls asleep to the music very often. Do you think he is taking after his dad??

And in honor of Dr Seuss' birthday a couple weeks ago, we went to story time at the mall where they read Dr Seuss books, and Cameron got to meet the Cat in the Hat and Thing 2.

Well, Cameron had an eventful birthday! We had his playgroup buddies over for a playdate/birthday party on Thursday. That was a lot of fun. Cameron got to blow out a candle on his cupcake. Here are a couple of pictures from that day:

Do you notice how all of his buddies are sitting still (for the most part) and Cameron is trying to get off of the couch?!?

And then his birthday party was Sunday. It was supposed to be an outdoors BBQ-but the weather was pretty bad. It looked like it was going to rain, but it didn't. The party got moved indoors. All year, Cameron NEVER once ran a fever. But of course, the night before his party, he has a (low-grade) fever. It carried into Sunday, and he slept through most of his party. He perked up towards the end-just in time for his very own first birthday cake (of course). Here are a couple pictures from that day:

We gave Cameron spaghetti for the very first time the Friday night before his first birthday. MAN, did he LOVE it!!!!! We decided to just go for it. He was in only his diaper for a precaution. Daddy cooked up some yummy pasgetti, and we just dumped it onto his highchair tray and let him have at it. It was EVERYWHERE! It was all over him, all over his highchair-and believe it or not, he actually got a lot of it in his mouth and in his belly. It was so much fun for all of us. He had a very much needed bath afterwards. Here are some pictures of the event...Enjoy!!!

(almost) a year in the life of Cameron Joseph Walker

In NINE days, Cameron will be ONE year old! I cannot believe how fast time has gone by. As cliche as it sounds, it seriously seems like only yesterday that I was pregnant with him, or still in the hospital with him, or at home in the very beginning with him-desperately trying to figure out how to take care of this little person. I cannot believe he is going to be a year old already. What an amazing journey it has been to watch him grow and change. I had absolutely no idea how much work, but especially how much joy and fun it would be.

I decided when Cameron was first born that I wanted to get pictures taken of him every month during his first year. I knew it would be an expensive commitment, but I also knew that during his first year, he was going to change by leaps and bounds from day to day, week to week, and month by month. So every month, we got to the mall and took pictures. The photographers at the photo place eventually remembered us, and all thought Cameron was so cute and so fun to take pictures of. I will be going next week to get his one year pictures taken, and it will be bittersweet to think that we won't be getting monthly pictures taken. It will be nice not to spend the money though!

So I thought, what better way to celebrate his birthday than to reflect back on the last year....So bear with me, this will be a long one, but here is the year in the life of Cameron Joseph Walker.......enjoy! With only NINE days left, it is really feeling like Christmas. Where did this year go? It seems like only yesterday that it was last December and I was pregnant, drinking my two a day Decaf Gingerbread lattes from Starbucks....But it is almost Christmas, and we are alllmost ready. I just finished my Christmas cards, and that kicked my butt into updating this. I got on here and was appalled to realize that my last update was in September. I laughed as I read through it really quickly and saw that Cameron was alllmost crawling. Well, my little Cameron is now officially crawling. He got up on his hands and knees right around Halloween. He is crawling EVERYWHERE. He pulls himself up on everything. He used to let us walk him around the house, but he has realized that crawling is way faster, so his knees just fold and he wants to crawl. He is talking and laughing and just growing every single day. One of his newer revelations is the light. He loves looking at lights. We can walk around the house alll day long asking him where the light is, and it never gets old. He even tries to say light.

He has eight teeth. Four on top and four on bottom. He has been a little teething machine since the middle of August. They just keep coming and coming. We just went to his NINE month appointment, and he weighs just a little over 21 pounds, and he is 28 inches long. He has slowed down a little bit, but not much...It is so amazing to watch.

Six Months Old!!!

well, Cameron turned six months old on September 10th. He is getting bigger and bigger every day. He has mastered sitting up by himself. He is on the verge of crawling. He is moving and moving, he just hasn't figured out that he needs to get his knees up. Once he figures that out, he is going to be unstoppable.

We have had an eventful month/month and a half. Cameron has eaten his way through all of his fruits and veggies, and so far, he has not turned anything down. He loves it all. We took him to his first Jack Johnson concert (hopefully not his last). It was at UCLA (go bruins!). We had a great time. He slept through most of it, but was singing along with everyone else.

Cameron had his first beach adventure the first weekend of September. We went to San Diego for a birthday party (Happy 5th Birthday Brooklyn and Ajax!). Grensted!). Cameron had a great day. He did really well. Jeff loved taking him in the water-they went in a bunch of times, and each time, he took Cameron a little bit further. He was up to his waist in water one time. He LOVED it.

Cameron has been a little tooth making factory lately. He got his bottom two and his top two all within about a month and a half. He has had a hard time with it-but he is super tough and his teeth are the cutest teeth ever!

Of course, Cameron had to eat the beach umbrella. The last one is Cameron passed out in the car on the way home. He is holding his new friend that he got from Robin and Linda Grensted. He didnt let go of it all night.

Well, we went to the gastroenterologist (however it's spelled....we will call it the GI dr). He was not too worried since Cameron is so healthy, but he is going to keep an eye on things. He recommended that we start him on some rice cereal, which we did right away. Cameron loved it! He has now graduated to some yummy carrots. We went back to the GI dr and they weighed and measured him, and the results are.....Cameron is 27 inches and 16 pounds, 15 ounces! My big guy! Here are some fun pictures for your entertainment:

I cannot believe that Cameron is going to be four months old tomorrow. My little guy is getting bigger and bigger every day. We go for his four month appointment tomorrow, and I can't wait to see how big he has gotten. I weighed him a couple of weeks ago, and he was 15 pounds 8 ounces, so I can only imagine what he will weigh tomorrow!

I didn't realize until I got on here that it has been a month since I last updated this! I am so sorry to any of you that have been looking for recent pictures. I promise to try to update this more often. It is a lot of work taking care of a little guy all the time, but I will get on here more often.

We went to my parents' cabin in Mammoth for the Fourth of July weekend. We left Thursday around 6 and we were up there until Sunday. Cameron did pretty good on the drive going up and coming home. He slept most of the time, and cried only a little bit a couple of times. He slept like a champ up there. We had a lot of fun. We took him to the parade, but did not do fireworks. We thought he was still too little to enjoy them.

Mother's Day, The Zoo and fun with friends

I had a great Mother's Day (and yes it is a month later, and I am just now posting about it). Jeff made me breakfast, and then we went to the mall. My mom and I saw a movie (Made of Honor) and Jeff took Cameron to get pictures taken for Mother's Day and for his 2 month old pics. We had dinner at my parent's house that night. Here is a picture of Cameron on Mother's Day:

We went to the zoo with my sister in law, Aunt Fran, and Cameron's cousin, Emerik, on May 14th. They have season passes, and go quite often, so we got to go with them for Cameron's first trip to the zoo. We had a great time. We went on Wednesday, and a couple days later, on Friday, the big orangatan, Bruno escaped from the cage! Luckily we weren't there that day! Anyway, here is a picture of Cameron at the zoo (he was so excited to be there!) and then a picture of Cameron and his Aunt Fran. We can't wait to go back. It will be great once Cameron actually understands where he is. :)

Cameron met The Grensted's (well some of them) recently. Robin and Linda and Linda's mom Carmen are from San Diego, and they came up to Pasadena to meet Cameron. Linda and my mom were roommates in college up in Santa Barbara, so needless to say, they knew me waaaay before I was here. They were excited to meet Cameron.

My good friend Sabrina came to visit us one day, and she got to meet Cameron too. He is pretty popular around here. Nobody comes to see mommy and daddy anymore-they just want to see Cameron. I don't blame them though. :) Here is a picture of Cameron and Sabrina

Cameron was almost two weeks old on Easter, so for his first Easter, we went to my parents' house. My sister, Melanie, and her husband, Buddy, were visiting from North Carolina, so they were there. Ear infection and a shot! Oh, No!

Yesterday, Cameron had his two month check up (at 10 weeks old). He weighed 13 pounds, 12 ounces (up from his birth weight at 8 pounds, 2.3 ounces) and he is 24 inches long (up from 20 inches at birth). So the doctor was quite pleased. He is in the 75th-90th percentile. The doctor was doing his exam, and checking his eyes, ears, nose and throat. When he looked in his left ear, he asked if Cameron had been fussy, and we told him that he had been a little bit fussy the past couple of nights. He told us that he had an ear infection in his left ear! :( I have had horrible ear infections my whole life (including one on our honeymoon), and I was happy to hear that breastfeeding reduces the chance of ear infections. Unfortunately, my little guy got one anyway. He had to get his first shot, and he cried a little at first, but was fine after a couple of minutes. We were really proud of him for being such a tough guy.

Today is Jeff's birthday, so I have to go help Cameron wrap daddy's present. Talk to you all later!

Cameron loves bath time. It's not so much that he smiles, he is just very relaxed. His leg is usually hanging out in the water. You can kind of see it in the picture here. Here are some pictures of Cameron with Grandma and Grandpa. They just adore him. If they haven't seen him for a couple of days, they will call and see if they can just stop by for a couple of minutes. When he was new new, and still sleeping allll the time, they would stop by, and if he was sleeping, they would just look at him for 10 miutes or so, and then leave. We go over to their house at least once a week. They have already gotten to babysit twice, so that Jeff and I could go out. I don't know who was doing who the favor-us or them. Two Months Old Already

Cameron was born on Monday, March 10 at 6:41 pm. I was scheduled to be induced on Tuesday morning, but Cameron decided to come on Monday instead. My water broke around 6:30 on Monday morning. We went to the hospital and I was in labor all day. Around 4, Cameron's heart rate started to go up, and wasn't coming back down. The doctor said I could be in labor for at least another 4 hours, and she suggested an emergency c section. So they got me ready, and Jeff scrubbed in. They started the surgery around 6:15, and he was out of there at 6:41. His heart rate was high when he was born, so they monitored him for a couple of hours, and then it came back down and it was fine. He was 8 pounds, 2.3 ounces and 2o inches long.

We were in the hospital all week. Jeff took the whole time off work and stayed at the hospital the whole time. We came home Friday afternoon.

And wow-it has been an amazing two months! So much has already happened, and he has already changed so much. We go to the doctor for his two month checkup on May 20, and we are very excited to see how much he has grown.

I just found this website, so I will have to do some catching up with pictures and everything, but check back often. We will keep this as up to date as possible so that everyone can see where Cameron is at.
